Marlane was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in English literature and psychology. Following in her father’s footsteps, she then decided to attend law school. She obtained her law degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College of Law in Miami. She graduated in 2003, cum laude. While in law school she was selected to participate in the Bankruptcy Clinic and as a student attorney represented clients whose cases were pending before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.
During her early years as an attorney her focus was primarily Family Law and Probate, which gave her a significant amount of litigation experience, specifically in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, Miami-Dade County.
In 2009 she relocated to Texas where her passion for personal injury began. When she first came to Texas, she secured a position as an Associate at a personal injury firm. After six (6) years of hard work and dedication, she became a Managing Attorney and was awarded her own satellite office in San Antonio. However, shortly thereafter, Marlane decided to move on to bigger and better things and therefore she sought out Thompson Law.
Her desire to help people in need, provide justice and assist injured victims flourished at Thompson Law because she felt client satisfaction was and is currently, their top priority. Marlane instantly knew this was her forever home. She has been with the firm since 2017 and is one of its founding members.
