William S. Adams
Attorney
William S. Adams represents injured individuals and families in complex personal injury, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury matters. With more than 25 years of litigation experience, including a decade of civil defense work, he brings a rare dual perspective to cases involving automobile accidents, commercial trucking crashes, industrial accidents, construction injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and products liability claims.
Mr. Adams began building his litigation foundation in 1999, handling matters involving wrongful death, automobile accidents, catastrophic injury, construction accidents, professional negligence, products liability, and insurance coverage. Early in his legal career, he completed a clerkship with the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, strengthening his foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, and appellate procedure.
After years representing corporate and insurance interests, Mr. Adams transitioned to representing injured individuals and their families. His defense-side experience provides valuable insight into how insurers and corporate defendants evaluate, defend, and litigate complex claims.
In 2011, Mr. Adams founded his own law firm, where he expanded his practice to include significant personal injury, 18-wheeler wrecks, commercial vehicle crashes, wrongful death, and criminal defense matters, including capital cases. More recently, he served as Litigation Attorney Manager at a large Texas plaintiff personal injury firm, where he supervised and mentored litigation teams handling high-volume, high-value injury cases through all phases of trial practice.
Throughout his career, Mr. Adams has tried dozens of jury trials to verdict and has presented continuing legal education seminars for fellow attorneys on litigation tactics, ethics, and professional responsibility. He is also an Allied Attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom and previously served on the West Virginia Junior College Advisory Board.
At Thompson Law, Mr. Adams focuses his practice on representing victims of auto accidents, commercial motor vehicle and trucking crashes, catastrophic injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and wrongful death claims.
Outside the office, William enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, roasting specialty coffee, and keeping up with his young daughter, who keeps life active, joyful, and grounded.
