Ryan Lauer

Attorney

Ryan H. Lauer represents injured individuals and families across Ohio in personal injury, wrongful death, and complex civil litigation matters. With more than 15 years of litigation experience, he has handled claims involving serious injuries, product liability, premises liability, and medical malpractice, with a practice grounded in strategic advocacy, trial readiness, and client-focused representation.

Mr. Lauer began his legal career working at a plaintiff’s law firm while attending law school at night, managing injury claims by day while building hands-on litigation experience early in his career. During law school, he also externed with the Supreme Court of Ohio, further developing his foundation in legal research, analysis, and appellate procedure.

He later served as in-house insurance defense counsel, giving him valuable insight into how insurers evaluate, defend, and attempt to minimize claims. That defense-side experience now informs his work representing injured clients and helps him anticipate how opposing parties approach complex injury claims.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lauer has first-chaired jury trials across Ohio and has represented clients in complex civil litigation involving serious injuries and wrongful death claims. He is also a speaker for National Business Institute, where he has presented on depositions, evidence, and litigation strategy.

Before joining Thompson Law, Mr. Lauer practiced with Schiff & Associates and served as Trial Staff Attorney for American Family Insurance. His background across both plaintiff and defense litigation provides perspective on how injury claims are evaluated, litigated, and resolved.

Outside the office, Ryan enjoys cooking, music, reading, oil painting, and spending time with his family and Sheepadoodle, Albert.
